The 21st Century President

I was reading on the huffington post about how Obama is going to use weekly Youtube videos to stay in touch with voters. It’s the 21st century version of the fireside chat.

I think it’s great!

Have you seen his website-  It’s an excellent use of new media and the Internet.

Obama is a truly 21st century politician. He uses the Internet to really keep people connected to his administration and he isn’t even in office yet!  He’s really living up to his commitment to be a transparent president and keep people informed and government clean.

Between the videos, the blogs, twitter, facebook, and myspace, Obama administration is going to be able to have direct access to voters and be able to give people the information they want.

Political genius. He bypasses everyone and gets his message right to the people. He can get voters to hound politicians and go out and get support for his initiatives.

Political genius…..

I’m looking forward to all the change that Obama will bring and the new found techy in me is especially excited to see Obama use the internet and online media so well. I wish other companies followed his example- they could learn a few things.

Speaking of the huffington post, check out this travel article for a familiar name:

Amazing isn’t…he is brave enough to hear from the people and he will have to listen. Like you said he is living up to “his hype” and I look forward to the politics as usual change.

Great post: I see you are moving beyond travel as well, impressive:)

I love that the Republicans laughed at Obama’s background as a Community Organizer, and then he calmly proceeded to community organize them out of power. Poetic, really.

  3. I am certainly excited about what an Obama presidency will bring to our beleaguered nation. He is very articulate to be sure, and seemingly has the intellect and composure to be successful in the highest office of the most powerful nation on earth. However, I am a little skeptical about his level of experience, alleged ties to unsavory organizations and religious affiliations. I voted for him, primarily because of bitterness at the incompetence of the Bush administration. I remain disenfranchised with America so far in the 21st Century, and came across a political graphic that does a fairly good job in capturing this sentiment.

Claire, everyone always talks about “experience” but what is that really? time in office? Then McCain would be the best candidate or Nixon the best president. However, what people really want when they say experience is WISDOM and SOUND JUDGMENT. Obama clearly showed both in the campaign and over the last few years as well in who he has picked so far. i suspect he will act with prudence and wisdom throughout his term (s).
