New in My life…

March 19, 2009

Well, my life is interesting right now. I work ten hours a week teaching english and I hate it. Mostly, because I hate kids so it works out that I hate my job. Most of the kids are easy but I really have to push myself to be there. I hope these websites start kicking in b/c im itching to quit….

The web work is going good. That’s all I’m going to say about that for now. Busy with it but good.

I’m expanding my circle of friend’s all the time here in Taipei and it is really fun. Every wends, I head to Roxy 99 for the free beer and I always meet people. I always wake up hungover too but is it fun- free beer plus 2 for 1 tequila. I’m a busy beaver.

I still haven’t seen much of Taipei but the weather is nice now and now that I am outsourcing my web work I have more time….so I’ll be seeing a lot lately…and with someone too..

A few weeks back, I met this nice aryan girl at Roxy 99. Austrian. Beautiful. And things are going well with that…so yeah…good for me…that’s my biggest news. so I will end on that high point!

Grabbing Hold of My Dream

December 9, 2008

When I was growing up, I wanted to be an archaeologist.  I guess I watched too many Indy movies.  Then  I decided I didn’t want to be that.  Maybe something with a history degree. Who knows. In college, I decided I wanted to be a teacher. That was my calling. To teach.  After college, I worked in a hospital.  Then I saw the movie the The Corporation. It was an assault on normal corporate practices and a praise for “sustainable business.” Bingo! That’s what I wanted.  Save the world, pad my wallet.  Everyone wins!!!

So I went to get a MBA and something happened.

In 2005, I went to Thailand.  I met people who just lived and enjoyed and didn’t worried.  Here I was- 24, planning my life out, saving for “the future”- what ever that was!, and not happy. I came home. I quit. I traveled.  Though I did finish the MBA- I just hated the thought of wasting all that money already!

No, I’m not sure what I want to do. I like doing a lot of things.  But I do know I never want to work in a cubicle or office ever again. NEVER EVER EVER AGAIN!

I love traveling. I love the web. The sociology of it fascinates me.  Why not combine them? Working from my computer anywhere in the world appeals to me.

It hit me a few days ago. I love what I am doing now. I am just starting to make some money but if this course continues, I’ll be able to make a living.  My face is out there. My name is known.  I have stuff on the way.

So I turned down teaching offers. I am going to concentrate on making my web empire.  I have two people paying now to do SEO for their websites so that brings in a steady paycheck. But I will be my travel empire.

I will be free.

I will have a four hour work week.

I future never seemed better.
